Ashley Smith (Ash)
Born to a farming family, at a young age my family decided to open a wildlife park, Weyhill Wildlife Park, and I spent my childhood growing up with bears, monkeys and snakes. It became the Hawk Conservancy specializing in birds of prey in 1980 and the organization became one of the leading authorities on raptors. Tracey and I helped grow the organization into a conservation charity working on projects with endangered birds around the world, as well as developing an award-winning visitor centre that welcomed thousands of visitors. So I have over 30 years experience in giving visitors a great day out! I have travelled widely throughout Europe, the States, Africa and Asia, and regularly take guests on wildlife watching holidays in Scotland and Africa. My passions are: birds (especially raptors), wildlife, gardening and developing “Cassley Copse”, fishing, art and the Highlands in general and I am more than happy to share my local knowledge to help you enjoy your trip.
Tracey Smith
Despite being a townie I have always had a passion for animals and the countryside in general, whether bringing home nature collections from childhood wildlife walks or looking after a houseful of pets. I met Ashley whilst working as a volunteer at the visitor centre, and share his passion for raptors and wildlife in general. I will be dealing with your bookings, cleaning and tidying your rooms and making sure that you have all you need to make your stay an enjoyable one. I am also the cook of the house and will make sure that you leave in the morning with a hearty breakfast inside you, and there may be the opportunity to sample some of my other award winning home-made creations. My other passions are: bird and wildlife watching, travel, cooking, growing my own fruit and veg, dancing and taking my dogs for long walks around this beautiful countryside.
